Riding Season

It looks like we are done with the cold temperatures! Its time to get rid of the winter gear and think about riding! If you’ve haven’t kept your battery on a trickle charger and have a weak battery, it may be time to replace yours. I like getting my batteries at Walmart. It saves money and they have OEM replacements. I recommend changing your battery every 3 years if you ride it regularly or every two years if you don’t.

Here is a checklist you can print out to help make sure your machine is safe for this coming season. t-clocsinspectionchecklist

Tour of Honor 2011

Need a reason to ride? You want to see your home state? You want to pay homage to the Soldiers who protect your Liberty? You want to help those Soldiers who gave their all? Then the Tour of Honor Ride is the ticket. I can’t think of a better reason to ride.

Here is the concept. Visit 7 selected Military Memorial sites in your home state on your motorcycle between Feb and Sept of 2011. Take a picture of the Memorial with your Rider Flag and Motorcycle in the foreground and receive a pin and certificate. The first five rider to finish in their state receive a trophy. Glenn Copeland of Blue Knights Chapter 13 is already finished and is a verified 3rd place winner for a trophy!

Along with the sites are suggested places to visit, stay and most important, eat.

Want to know more!? Register for the Tour of Honor and pay the $65 fee. The money goes to provide you with a shirt and rider flag with your assigned rider number. On top of that $10 is donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.

You can ride it all at once, or take your time hitting all the sites one at a time at your leisure.

Here I mapped out the Texas route for a continuous ride, which is about 2028 miles, depending on where you start. For more details locations about the selected sites, visit the Tour of Honor website.
